A Credit Union exists to serve a specific group of people, such as a group of employees or the members of a professional or religious group. This is called a "field of membership." The field of membership may include where they live, where they work, or their membership in a social or economic group. The Buffalo Community Federal Credit Union Membership is open to everyone who lives, works, worships or attends school in Erie County.

Select Employer Groups (SEG)
Buffalo Community Federal Credit Union is affiliated with over 30 select employer groups in and around the Buffalo, Cheektowaga and Orchard Park areas.  If you or a family member works for one of these groups...you can join through your employer!

*IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT PROCEDURES FOR OPENING A NEW ACCOUNT*
To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify and record information that identifiies each person who opens an account.  What this means for you:  When you open an account, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you.  We may also ask to see your driver's license or other identifying documentation.  If applying for membership by mail, you must include a photocopy of your government issued picture identification, and your membership application must be notarized by an authorized Notary Public.

*All new accounts are verified with Chex Systems. We reserve the right to deny any new accounts, when any derogatory information is given on a new account.
